It’s one of those days when everything seems to be going wrong. You’re in a horrible mood and nothing is going well. As you pull in line at the drive-thru for your coffee, you find yourself waiting and waiting. Utterly agitated, you finally get to the window only to find out the person in front of you has paid for your order. You can’t help but smile, and you decide to pay for the person behind you. Suddenly, the world doesn’t seem quite so bad.
Like good weed, random acts of kindness have the power to uplift people’s spirits. You have the power to make someone’s day better with some small, but compassionate, acts. November 13th is World Kindness Day, and what better way to celebrate than with some selfless acts of kindness?
Try putting some of the following acts of kindness ideas to work and put a big smile on a few faces.
21 Random Acts of Kindness
1. Surprise a friend with some weed
You don’t have to spend a fortune at the dispensary to make someone’s day. A two-pack of some prerolls, an edible, a gram of dabs, or a jar of some good flower would put a smile on anyone’s face. Browse our menu for weed gift ideas.
2. Compliment a stranger
A compliment from a stranger can do wonders for someone’s mood. Remember that time when you weren’t sure about your pot leaf onesie? Then someone commented on how awesome it looked and that was all you needed to hear to start grinning. Don’t hold back on giving compliments.
3. Send flowers to someone just because
Surprise someone with a colorful arrangement of freshly cut flowers. For a stoner recipient, consider sending a cannabis bouquet. There are a few businesses in Washington that will create and deliver bouquets of flowers and cannabis leaves. Not only would the person be happy to know you’re thinking of them, but they’d get to enjoy it even more with the beauty of cannabis added to it.
4. Run an errand for someone
If you know someone struggles with transportation, a great random act of kindness would be to offer to complete one of their errands for them. Perhaps do their grocery shopping or make a run to the dispensary so they can re-up.
5. Clean your roommate’s glass
What better act of kindness to do for a stoner than to clean their glass? Surprise your roommate by cleaning their bongs, dab rigs, or pipes for them. Leave them drying on the counter for them to find.
6. Leave a kind note on someone’s windshield
Write a nice and thoughtful note and stick it on the windshield of someone’s car. This could be your significant other, a friend, your neighbor, or even a random stranger. Do this to multiple cars to really spread some positivity!
7. Create a holiday for someone
Celebrate someone you care about by dedicating a day to them. For example, you could have a “Derek Appreciation Day” for your best friend. Your holiday celebration can be something as simple as marking the day on a calendar and then sending them a card of appreciation every year on that date. You can also take things one step further and create a fun family holiday. A great day to celebrate a friend would be the first day you smoked together – if you can remember!
8. Check in with older neighbors
A great act of kindness is to check in with elderly neighbors when the weather turns to freezing. See if they need anything, such as groceries or to have their dog walked. This simple gesture can make a world of difference for someone, especially during these cold Washington fall and winter seasons.
9. Appreciate the hard workers
When it’s cold out, offer hot chocolate to your mail carrier, garbage men, construction workers, and others. When it’s hot outside, give out cold beverages like sports drinks or water.
10. Get to texting
Send out a positive message to at least five people in your contact list, just because. You never know who may need to hear kind words that day.
11. Surprise a friend with medicated treats
If you like to bake, bake a friend some cannabis-infused cookies using cannabutter. If you’re not one for baking, buy them some tasty edibles to enjoy. Just make sure you’re telling the friend these are medicated!

14. Show a business some love
You can also perform an act of kindness when you visit a dispensary. When you get great service, let the budtender who helped you know. Then, tell the manager. Go the dispensary website and submit an email, or leave a positive review online. It makes a big difference.
15. Take a stand
When you hear people speaking negatively about someone, chime in with a positive comment about them. Even though they won’t be there to hear, it makes an impact to have someone defend them in their absence.

19. Feed someone’s parking meter
If you come across someone that looks like they could use a little help, feed their meter and save them some hassle. Or do this randomly when you see a meter that is almost up.
20. Give up your seat
Whenever you’re seated in public, such as on public transportation or waiting in a lobby, give up your seat to someone.
21. Offer to take someone’s photo
Selfies aren’t always the best way to capture a special moment, especially if you’re trying to get the background in the shot as well. If you see a couple or a person struggling to take a photo, help them out by offering to take the picture for them.
Performing Random Acts of Kindness
Look for ways to help others every day, and not just on World Kindness Day. Hold doors open for people, offer help, take a photo for someone, or surprise them with some quality bud. Every interaction you have with someone is a chance to make their day a little bit better.
