Thanks to global warming, we’re dealing with temperatures higher than they’ve ever been; new record highs are being set all the time.
As if that wasn’t already a huge concern, it can also pose a serious problem during summer, when us stoners are struggling to stay cool.
Turning on the AC works, but it’s expensive and not the most eco-friendly option.
Instead, there are plenty of other ways to beat the heat this summer, so you can stay cool without breaking the bank or impacting the planet.
Here are 10 of them.
10 Ways to Beat the Heat This Summer
1. Wear breathable fabrics.
Sporting clothes made of cotton, linen, rayon, or chambray.
Cotton is one of the best fabrics to wear during the hottest months. It’s cheap and widely available, and perfect for the heat. It’s soft, lightweight, and breathable, and it soaks up the sweat. Cotton helps keep you cool while allowing heat to escape from your body.
Linen is very light and loosely woven, so your body can cool down. It’s also absorbent, so it soaks up the sweat and then dries quickly, so you stay both cool and dry.
Rayon is a synthetic fabric created from a blend of cotton, wood pulp, and other fibers (both natural and synthetic). It was created as a cheaper option for those who can’t buy silk, and has extremely thin fibers, which makes it highly breathable and lightweight.
Chambray is imitation denim. It has all the benefits of the tightly woven cotton, such as breathability and absorbency but is far lighter.
2. Hydrate with cannabis sodas.
Cracking open a cold one is pretty much the norm on a hot summer day. But, for stoners looking to beat the heat, cannabis sodas are the way to go. Refreshing, crisp, and full of both flavor and THC, these cannabis sodas are the perfect cool-down beverage.

3. Pop frozen treats.
Stock up on some candy edibles, and keep them in the freezer. Let them freeze, and then pop ‘em in your mouth for a cold treat with a little extra zing.
4. Freeze chocolate for later.
This is a lot like the third way for stoners to beat the heat, but a bit different. Because it’s cannabis chocolate. Hard to resist, melts in your mouth, and gives you that cannabis pick-me-up that keeps you going throughout the hot days.
5. Drink plenty of water.
This is a HUGE must, especially during these 90-100 degree temperatures! Drink lots of water to ensure you stay hydrated. Add a cannabis tincture to it for added benefits that’ll keep you feeling cool and relaxed.

6. Change the light bulbs in your house.
Long-lasting LED light bulbs produce approximately 70% less heat than the standard incandescent light bulbs. They also last longer than standard bulbs.
7. Smoke some indica.
The normal human body temperature is about 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, with normal fluctuates of 1 degree up or down. But, your body temperature can rise and make you uncomfortable when these hot summer days hit.
Smoke some indica, and fall into a relaxing couch-lock. The more quiet and calm you are, the lower (to an extent) your body temperature will drop.

8. Use damp sheets or towels as curtains.
If your home doesn’t have light-blocking curtains, you can get all that scorching sunlight streaming right into your house. Blinds can only do so much.
Get some sheets or towels wet, and hang them up in your windows. These will block out the light, as well as cool down the air coming in.
9. Make an ice cube fan.
This is super simple, but also super effective. Put a bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan, and aim it at the room. Air will travel over the ice cubes, cooling down the room, much like ice in a bong cools down the smoke.
10. Use a cooling topical.
Cannabis topicals are not only cool and refreshing to the touch, but they also offer the effects of THC and / or CBD. Rub on a topical to help you cool down and stay relaxed and calm during these blisteringly hot days.
What are some things you do to beat the heat on hot days? What are your best tips for staying cool when the temperatures rise?
