SubZero Green (Flower)
SubZero has really started to make quite the name for itself recently, and it’s continued to rapidly grow in popularity. With its mysterious origin, semi-ambiguous genetics, and incredibly distinct flavor, SubZero has just about earned a place in the marijuana hall of fame.
Coming from Army of Dankness, the grower who created powerhouse strains like SnakeEyez and Cheddarhead, SubZero is known for its unique, rubber-like aroma.
SubZero is a cross Army of Dankness came up with, combining Pink Biscuit (Pink Lemonade x Gorilla Biscuit) and Bandersnatcch (Exodus Cheese x Gobstopper). It’s pungent and sharp, with a flavor that tastes almost exactly like the smell of leather. It produces full, dense smoke that floats over the tongue, awakening all of its taste-buds.
When it comes to appearance, SubZero has an exotic beauty that is impossible to ignore. It has a dense, heavy buds with forest green leaves hugged by amber pistils that are a stark contrast to the rich purple streaks inside. The soft coating of milky trichomes adds a visible sticky feeling. It looks as rich as it tastes.
About Army of Dankness
Army of Dankness has two greehouses in Yelm, WA. One is for flower, while the other is for vegetation. They use the soil, which includes: Organic compost teas, feces from goats and llamas, and sometimes nettles, Comfry, and other plants from the property.
Their goal is to eventually never need to bring in soil, fertilizer, compost, etc. from off the farm. To prevent bugs and mold, they keep their plants healthy and use a product called High Yield Green Foliage Pro. This is a probiotic that prohibits the growth of biofilm, which is a necessity for mold formation.
Army of Dankness is family-owned and operated, with the main crew consisting of Street Trash (AKA Bjorn Hartman), his wife Evil Linn (AKA Rebecca Hartman), and his dad Water Man (AKA Rick Hartman). Sometimes, Bjorn’s mother, sister, and friend join in on the fun.
The Army of Dankness team is still in the process of picking strains from the collection of crosses they’ve made. So far, SubZero, Swampthing, and Cheaddarhead are their current favorites.
All of their branding art is done with stencils by Bjorn, or is hired out to some of his artist friends. Naming the strains and creating the mascot logos is one of his favorite parts of the job.
The passion Army of Dankness has for cannabis comes through in and every strain they produce. SubZero makes this abundantly clear, and is definitely one strain you don’t want to miss out on!
Subzero Green Effects
Cannabis newbies beware: SubZero is extremely potent. Depending on how much you smoke, this strain can be a bit of a creeper. Take a couple of hits, and then see how you feel before taking more.
When this one hits, you get a strong, euphoric cerebral high followed by an intense full-body sedation. The couch-lock is pretty strong with this one, but it gives a sharp mental focus and gets the creative juices flowing. The munchies come on sudden and strong, so be sure to have snacks on hand or check out our previous post on the best places places to eat in Tacoma when stoned !
With its THC level of 16.56%, SubZero is the perfect choice for those who want to have stoned discussions with friends about aliens or the fact the alphabet doesn’t really need to be in order.

“This is some seriously dank bud right here. It’s REALLY strong and had me eating way more spaghetti than I needed to. This is some SERIOUSLY dope bud. That jar art is awesome, too. Loved it.” – Jake C.
“This was the first Army of Dankness strain I tried, and I was instantly hooked. I’ve never had weed that tasted like this before. It really stands out for me, and is highly unique. The buds were gorgeously trimmed too. I plan to try all of the strains from this company. I’m now a fan.” – Cindy L.
